Bennett Cox
Youth Pastor
Bennett was raised in Tulsa with his two younger siblings by his parents. His parents were faithful in the home to raise him and his siblings to love the Lord. It was through family discipling in the home, the preaching at church, and a biography of Jim Elliot that the Lord saved Bennett in 7th grade, and in the subsequent summer he was baptized.
It was in his 11th grade high school theology class at Mingo Valley Christian School that he began to make better sense of the Bible and how God reveals himself. Because he was able to understand the Bible more clearly, he developed a deeper love of Jesus and as a result grew in his desire to teach the Bible to others so they could enjoy the gospel just as he did.Â
After high school, he began college in August 2016 at the University of Arkansas where he would eventually meet his wife, Anna Karen, in chemistry lab. In the last two summers in college, he interned at TBC as he began to aspire to pastor. In 2020 he graduated from Arkansas, began seminary remotely at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS), and joined University Baptist Church in Fayetteville. It was there he grew in his love for the church as God grew him tremendously under the preaching and ministry of the elders and the church body. He completed a 9 month intensive pastoral residency where he received foundational training in pastoral ministry.
In 2022 he married Anna Karen. For the last few years they served at UBC in Fayetteville, and Bennett worked on staff in youth and college ministry there. He recently graduated from MBTS in December 2023 with a Master of Theological Studies (MTS) and Master of Divinity (MDiv).Â
Bennett is a huge fan of English Premier League club Arsenal (Come on you Gunners!), enjoys reading, playing soccer, and spending time hiking with Anna Karen (or AK for short). His favorite authors are Michael Reeves and J.C. Ryle.
