Scott Susong

Shepherding Pastor

Scott came to TBC with decades of pastoral experience. He serves by teaching, mentoring staff, counseling, and many other roles. Scott is a native Texan. He was born and raised in Dallas, graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1969 and Dallas Theological Seminary in 1978. His major in seminary was Pastoral Ministry. Scott trusted Christ as his Savior & Lord while a freshman at The University of Texas. A staff member from Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) explained the gospel to Scott using the Four Spiritual Laws. For the rest of his time at UT, he was involved in the Cru ministry on campus.

Scott married his high school sweetheart, Judy, in 1968. They have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Scott & Judy enjoy spoiling grandchildren, walking their dogs, Molly & Gibbs, and supporting the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros. Scott’s favorite verse is John 3:16 and he loves teaching from God’s word, especially the Gospels. His favorite movie of all time is “Ben-Hur, a Tale of the Christ”(1959 version). Scott’s favorite authors are C.S. Lewis and John Grisham to name a few.
